THE BERLIN MASK PARADE COLLECTIONS
Berlin consists of twelve different districts, which are large and diverse. Each district has its own character with its own atmosphere and identity. Together they make Berlin a vibrant metropolis.
With its designs of face masks, Berlin Mask Parade embraces the diversity of Berlin’s districts and the activities you can undertake: sometimes you want to go to the theatre, sometimes to a hip restaurant, neatly dressed to work or visit a retro market in East Berlin.
The characteristics of four Berlin neighbourhoods inspired the designers to create different designs:
- Friedrichshain: funky East Berlin
- Kreuzberg: hip & happening
- Kurfürstendamm: theatre & shopping
- Potsdamer Platz: business centre
Choose your style and choose your mask! But be quick, every face mask is unique.
Kreuzberg: hip & happening
When the wall existed, Kreuzberg was the most densely populated part of West Berlin where alternates, immigrants and Germans lived together. The district was even surrounded on three sides by the Berlin Wall, creating its own culture.
There is still a cosy multi-cultural atmosphere in this district where many population groups live together. You will find trendy restaurants and bars and lots of graffiti and street art.
Its colourfulness is reflected in our Xberg collection: masks with bright colours, African prints and cheerful combinations.
KURFÜRSTENDAMM: theatre & shopping
The area around the shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm is also typically called “West”. You’ll find KaDeWe (Kaufhauf des Westens) and the expensive design shops and flagship stores of major brands. This is where Berlin’s upper class goes shopping, dining, to the theatre, or exuberant partying.
Theatre, dining, partying, shopping, glitter and glamour – in the Ku’damm collection you’ll find masks to sparkle and shine, for a festive occasion or to give your daily outfit some extra Schwung ('twist').
POTSDAMER PLATZ: business centre
De Potsdamer Platz is one of the most famous and busiest squares in Berlin. Before the Second World War it was already an important business centre. From 1961 the wall ran straight through it. After reunification, the area was redeveloped: shopping centres, ministries, embassies, office buildings and entertainment venues came into being. Modern architecture and business – here you’ll find business towers and people in office clothing, and experience cosmopolitan Berlin.
The masks from the Potsdamer Platz collection often have graphic prints, sometimes with a twist. Because they are largely neutral in colour, you can combine them well with business clothing.
FRIEDRICHSHAIN: funky east berlin
Friedrichshain used to be located in East Berlin. After the fall of the wall, it became a trendy district and a creative centre: due to its central location and cheap rents, many artists and students came to live here. This district has retained the raw touch that Berlin was so famous for in the 1990s.
Upcycling, trendy 80s fashion design and funky prints are all the rage here. In short, this F’hain face mask collection is raw and cool!
